Monochrome & Colour Isolation

A collection of Scottish landscapes, castles and historic places presented in monochrome and selective colour.

By stripping away much of the natural colour, certain details are allowed to remain — drawing the eye to elements of the scene that carry particular meaning, atmosphere or emotion. In some works, colour becomes part of the storytelling itself, reflecting the history and memories held within Scotland’s landscapes and ancient stones.

Each image begins as an original Soul of Alba photograph and is individually interpreted to reveal a different side of Scotland — quieter, more reflective, and shaped by the stories of the past.
