This piece captures the striking Star Pyramid within the Old Town Cemetery — one of Stirling’s most unusual and symbolic monuments — standing beside the historic church tower and overlooking generations of memory carved into the hillside.

In processing this image, I leaned into a warm, painterly aesthetic with muted sepia tones and softened contrast to enhance the atmosphere of age and reflection. By emphasising the textures of the darkened stone, the dramatic cloud formations, and the layered gravestones surrounding the monument, I wanted to evoke a sense of timelessness — where architecture, remembrance, and Scottish heritage quietly converge. The composition balances strength and stillness, allowing the pyramid structure to emerge as both mysterious and enduring against the soft light of the landscape beyond.
