The story behind the photograph

Rows of historic stone buildings rise above Princes Street Gardens, bringing together the layered architecture and green spaces of Edinburgh. Shifting light and expansive skies lend depth and quiet grandeur to the city scene.

In processing this image, I used warm, muted sepia tones and softened contrast to preserve its painterly atmosphere. The textures of the architecture balance the softness of the gardens below, capturing Edinburgh as both a living city and a place rich in history.
