The story behind the photograph

Ross Fountain’s intricate cast-iron design stands beneath the weathered stone and volcanic rock of Edinburgh Castle. Together, these landmarks bring a striking balance of elegance and strength to the city’s historic landscape.

In processing this image, I used warm golden tones and subtle contrast to enhance its romantic atmosphere. The composition draws the eye upward, bringing out the fountain’s verdigris textures against the castle while preserving the character of the scene.
